Description

The U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC), Engineering Directorate requires contracted effort for the enhancement of the M41 Protective Assessment Test System (PATS) which is used to determine and assess proper protective mask fit and size to ensure the mask wearer protection against chemical biological warfare agents.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe enhancement development effort will include two distinct, concurrent phases of system software and hardware modifications.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe phases will provide the basis for an enhanced M41 PATS with improved field readiness and ease of use.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspPhase I requires development of a prototype modification kit for the M41 PATS.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe modification kit will update existing software to improve functionality, user-friendliness, and the mainte nance decision-making process and experience.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspPhase II requires the design and development of a prototype miniature M41 PATS to fit in the war fighter's battle dress uniform pocket.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe miniature M41 PATS will incorporate the upgrades of phase I in a han dheld device.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe applicable NAICS code is 334515.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe solicitation will be issued on a full and open competitive basis.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspA Cost Plus Fixed Fee type contract is contemplated.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspIt is anticipated that the resultant contract will have a two (2) year period of performance.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe estimated release date for RFP W911SR-04-R-0004 is on or about 8 March 2004 with responses due within 30 days after release.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAll responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be considered.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAn electronic version of the RFP will&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspbe available through the following website: https://abop.monmouth.army.mil.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspPoints of Contact:&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspGlen Mattingly, Contract Specialist, 410-436-4210, e-mail glen.mattingly@us.army.mil; Diane Street, Contracting Officer, 410-436-2428, e-mail diane.street@us. army.mil.
