Description

NAICS Code: 334516&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to with Affymertrix, Inc., 3380 Central Expressway, Santa Clara, CA 95051. for the acquisition of supplies and reagents use for gene chip arrays that test for gene expression from biological preparations. The EPA has an Affymetrix analysis instrument in house. This instrument only accepts Affymetrix chip arrays and the procedure used to prepare the chip arrays must use Affymetrix products.EPA has identified Affymetrix, Inc., the&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsponly vendor capable of satisfy the requirement. The circumstance permitting "other than full and open competition" is FAR 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy Agency requirements". The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist,&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspand therefore, no solicitation (RFQ) is available. Consequently, any response failing to provided the aforementioned data and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will be ignored. Interested parties who can meet the above requirements may submit written&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspqualification statements, fully explaining their capability no later than 15 days after the date of this publication.
