- This modification is to change the closing date of this synopsis to 8 Mar 2004. Therefore, issuance of the solicitation will be approximately 9 Mar 04. Item 0001. Noun: 4TH Stage Turbine Wheel. NSN: 2840-00-938-3869OJ. Qty: 9 ea. P/N: 6855084. Size/Dimension: diameter is 11.75 to 11.761. Form/fit/function: Receives the hot gases from the combustion section;the energy in the expanding gases is converted into torque for driving the compressor rotor, the driven accessories, and the propeller used on the T56-7B engine. Predominant material of manufacture: steel, corrosion and heat resistant. Applicable to: T56-A-7B engines. Destination: FB2039, Tinker AFB OK.,73145-9013. Required delivery: Feb 2005. The approximate issue date of solicitation will be 23 Mar 2004. The anticipated award date will be 60 days after issuance of this notice. Source(s): ROLLS-ROYCE CORPORATION, INDIANAPOLIS IN 46241-4812. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested parties are invited to call the Ombudsman at (405) 736-3273. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER FOR SOLICITATION REQUESTS. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty five-days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Specifications, plans, or drawings relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. New and Unused Government or Commercial Surplus may be considered at time of solicitation. Items must be new/unused and manufactured by Rolls-Royce Corp or an authorized sub-contractor. Items must be in their original packaging with no visible signs of damage or corrosion present. Certification of manufacturer is required and part number must be verified as P/N: 6855084.
