Description
It is the intent of the Government to conduct a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) for the MH-60 fleet to produce MH-60M aircraft. The MH-60 SLEP modernizes and extends the service life of the MH-60 fleet of aircraft. Key characteristics of this system include (1) Special Operations Aircraft platform commonality; (2) Airframe cabin commonality with UH-60M (3) Composite Tailcone, Pylon and Stabilator (4) Dual Digital Automatic Flight Control System (5) Improved turbine and electrical power systems. A cost-plus-fixed-fee (CPFF) contract will be awarded for the procurement of two prototype MH-60M SLEP aircraft for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) fleet. The contract will include the engineering support, integration, qualification and procurement of two MH-60M SLEP prototypes. This aircraft modification will leverage from the UH-60M SLEP, thereby increasing commonality and upgrade new technologies for improved performance with both Army common and new SOA components. Contract award is targeted for January 2004. Pursuant to FAR 6.302, the intended source is Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, 6900 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06614. The Government does not own specifications and drawings to permit full and open competition. When calling be prepared to state name, address and solicitation number. Upon successful qualification testng of the prototype aircraft, a new contract action will be initiated for the SLEP of the remaining MH-60 fleet. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. See note 22.
