- Description
- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. Reference “Cisco NetFlow Data Analyzer” when responding to this announcement. The Social Security Administration (SSA) is attempting to identify vendors that are capable of providing a platform capable of capturing, recording, and reporting on Cisco NetFlow data. The Agency is seeking sources that produce a software package and/or hardware/software solution that will meet the following requirements: 1. Supports NetFlow; a. Cisco IOS® NetFlow technology is an integral part of Cisco IOS Software that collects and measures data as it enters specific routers or switch interfaces. By analyzing NetFlow data, a network manager can identify the cause of congestion; determine the class of service (CoS) for each user and application; and identify the source and destination network for traffic. NetFlow allows extremely granular and accurate traffic measurements and high-level aggregated traffic collection. Because it is part of Cisco IOS Software, NetFlow enables Cisco product-based networks to perform IP traffic flow analysis without purchasing custom probes--making traffic analysis economical on large IP networks. b. Cisco NetFlow documentation can be found at http://www.cisco.com/go/NetFlow 2. Supports version 5 or 9 of NetFlow 3. Supported webserver platforms are either IIS or Apache. 4. Does not include open-source code. 5. Must scale from single interface to multiple thousands of interfaces 6. Must be capable of alarming, trending, and reporting on varied parameters and data points, e.g. alarm on excessive utilization, excessive or threshold met on http/telnet/icmp/etc.. Solutions should concentrate on SSA’s intent to utilize NetFlow’s performance management features without excluding the billing management and other NetFlow features. Any proposed hardware or software must be Section 508 compliant. Interested vendors must be able to provide verifiable proof by submitting information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet the Agency’s requirement. Vendors responding should indicate whether their services are available on the GSA Federal Supply Schedules or any other Government Wide Agency Contract (GWAC). This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA’s assessment of capable sources. Responses to this notice should be submitted electronically by March 16, 2004. No Faxed responses will be accepted. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. NO FORMAL SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED AT THIS TIME. ELECTRONIC RESPONSES ONLY, to the POC identified below.
