Description

Project for "Room Rehab Lodging, Building 331, Sheppard Air Force Base TX," will be issued in the near future. ATTENTION CONTRACTORS: THIS IS A BRAND NAME ACQUISITION, THEREFORE PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT EQUAL OR SUBSTITUTE PROPOSALS FOR CONSIDERATION. Work will consist of furnishing all necessary plant; labor and materials to accomplish the following renovation work in Building 331: (1)Demolish existing wallpaper, vinyl covering, rubber wall base cove, and remove wall mounted mirrors, crown molding (except in rooms 3116 and 3118) and discard at an appropriate disposal site. Note: Existing crown and baseboard wood moldings in rooms 3116 and 3118 are to remain. (2)Furnish and install new BRAND NAME DUROPLEX, PERMATONE OR TEC-COTE wall coating in 36 rooms (2 Floors) in Building 331. Successful contractor will install 1 color Fissured textured acrylic wall coating on all sleeping room walls and 2-color Tuscany on accent wall in all sleeping rooms per manufacturers recommendations. In multi-room suites there will be an accent wall in the living room behind the couch and behind each headboard. Total square footage for Building 331 is approximately 29,642 sq ft of wall coating. NOTE: Total square footage to be applied in base color is approximately 21,934 sq ft. Total accent wall coating to be applied is approximately 7,708 sq ft. (3)This project will be divided into 2 Phases, with the successful contractor being given one floor of rooms (18) at a time to complete within the prescribed 30-day phasing period. (4)Work and materials shall comply with this Statement of Work and the editions in effect at the time of his solicitation for all applicable criteria, regulations, guidelines and codes, all of which are made a part thereof. (5)Contractor shall provide one point of contact for all phases of the work to be performed – this shall be a true turnkey installation. Project will be completed in conjunction with whole room upgrade. Contractors will be required to coordinate with project manager from Thomasville furnishings on all changes to renovation timelines and decisions. (6)Performance period is 60 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. (7)A formal site visit to the project site is scheduled for 12 March 2004 at 10:00AM. Prospective contractors must comply with the following procedures to facilitate base entry: a.Contact Gary Beck, Contract Specialist, Phone (940) 676-5188, Fax (940) 676-3784, e-mail: gary.beck@sheppard.af.mil with your name to confirm attendance NLT 24 hours in advance. b.A Contracting representative will meet prospective contractors at the Sheppard AFB Main Gate Visitor’s Center at 0900 hours. c.Prospective contractors should plan on arriving at the Main Gate Visitor’s Center NLT 0900 hours, 12 March 2004. This time is required to allow for contractor’s to be processed for base entry passes. d.Bring State Driver’s License and Proof of Vehicle insurance e.Upon completion of Pass Issuance, contractors will be escorted to the facility location. f.QUESTIONS FROM PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS REGARDING SPECIFICATION AND/OR WORK REQUIRMENTS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11:00 AM, 15 MARCH 2004. All work shall be in accordance with the statement of work and drawings. Magnitude of construction project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation is being issued for FULL and OPEN competition. Applicable NAICS code for this project is 238320 with a size standard of $12 million dollars. Solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted through the electronic posting system (http://eps.gov/). Paper copies will not be provided. Contractors will be solely responsible for monitoring the Internet and obtaining the solicitation documents and any amendments. Interested offerors must ensure they are registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to receive award of a contract.
