Description
The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for construction services to build the 1st BDE Barracks Project, PN 36388, at Fort Riley, Kansas. This will be a full and open solicitation and the Army will consider all bids submitted by responsible sources. Solicitation will be available on or about 18 Mar 04. Bids will be due on or about 04 May 04. The Bid acceptance period is 90 days from bid openeing and the option accceptance period is 180 days from award. The estimated construction duration for this project is SIX HUNDRED THIRTY (630) calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the notice to proceed for construction (NTP-C). The completion time is based on the assumption that the successful offeror will receive NTP-C by 01 OCTOBER 2004. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: construction of two 3-story Barracks buildings to billet 312 persons, one Soldier Community Building, six Company Operation Facilities, asphaltic concrete roadway construction, building demolition, supporting facilities, including utility extensions and connections, underground electric service, fire protection, communication cable, landscaping, storm drainage and erosion control, parking, walks, information systems, exterior lighting, signage and site improvements. Also included is a 6,500-foot removal, replacement and widening of Kitty Drive, to a 32-foot wide, 10.5-inch thick PCC roadway. Options include an additional 5,600 feet of Kitty Drive removal, replacement and widening. Design of erosion control facilities will be the responsibility of the construction contractor. The estimated magnitude of procurement is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available only on CD-ROM, and will be free of charge.
