- Description
- The Postal Service is seeking General Contractors wishing to be Prequalified for award of a Fixed Price Contract for postalization of an existing warehouse. The work involves the postalization of an existing leased warehouse with an approximate size of 99,000 square feet. The facility is located at 1000 Riverbend Drive, St. Rose LA 70087. Work includes but is not limited to interior finish out, parking, striping, site lighting, and chilled water HVAC systems. Work also includes structural steel, metal deck, light weight concrete, metal stud partitions, sound attenuation insulation, gypsum board walls, ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, custom cabinets and fixtures, carpentry, glass storefront system, painting, metal doors, wood doors, metal frames, door hardware, metal fabrications, toilet partitions and accessories, signage, lockers, loading dock equipment, fire protection and detection systems, security systems, electrical, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning complete and ready for use. All areas and work described are approximate. Exact areas will be denoted on plans and specifications to be issued with the request for proposal. Drawings and specifications will be provided by USPS defining the Scope of Work. Total period of construction will be 120 calendar days. Estimated cost range is between $2,000,000 to $2,500,000. Only the most qualified contractors will be prequalified. To be considered for Prequalification: the company must be financially capable; five (5) years experience as a construction company; and the completion of a minimum of three (3) comparable projects within the past five (5) years. Comparable projects are defined as interior finish-out of similar industrial applications similar to mail processing operations within warehouses and/or light industrial buildings. The building size should range from a minimum of 50,000 GSF to a maximum of 150,000 GSF. The Contractor’s Qualification package will be evaluated based on the criteria listed in the Qualification Package which includes: EXPERIENCE/PERFORMANCE; COMPARABLE EXPERIENCE and CAPABILITIES – Organization and Management, Backlog, Financial Capability, Bonding and Banking and Presentation and Interview. The Postal Service intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to Prequalified firms only. The Postal Service will select the offer that provides the best value considering the capability of the General Contractor. The completed Qualification Packages should be delivered via one of the many services provided by the Postal Service or hand delivered to the Southwest Facilities Service Office, 7800 N. Stemmons Freeway, Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75247-4217. Qualification packages will not be returned.
