- Description
- The work on this project will consist of restoring wetlands on two sites in Polk County, Iowa in the area known as Chichaqua Bottoms as shown in the contract drawings. Work at the Bailey Carpenter East site will consist of installing three low dikes across floodplain areas with shallow water excavations and 17 tile plugs. At the Hartung site, two long, low dikes will be constructed across floodplain areas in the restoration area to increase water depths. Equipment such as dozers, or excavators, scrapers and low ground pressure dozers will be used to construct the dikes with shallow borrow from specified locations. Range of cost for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Period of performance is 57 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. A site showing will be held March 30, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. CST at the Ankeny service center located at 1513 N Ankeny Boulevard, Suite 3, Ankeny, Iowa.
