Description

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement to Duratek, Inc. Barnwell for the disposal of unwanted low-level radioactive waste located at the Defense Consolidation Facility (DCF) in Barnwell, South Carolina. There is no requirement for processing or treatment of the waste. The waste is under Duratek's Agreement State License with the state of South Carolina. The waste will be disposed at Hanford, Washington. Condition 25 of Duratek's Agreement State License requires they perform work in accordance with their procedures. These procedures include using a Duratek certified broker for making shipments out of the facility. Any contract will be awarded under FAR 6.302-1, Only One Resposible Source. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR OFFERS. A determ ination not to compete shall rest with the government. The POC is Pete Brown, email, brownp@osc.army.mil.
