Description

The National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, is soliciting proposals for on-site Digital Archiving Services for its Media Production Group in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Charged with providing access and safety information to National Park System visitors, the Harpers Ferry Center publications program has a living library of titles that exceeds 400 items. Many are reprinted and updated on a one- to two-year basis. With each edition in digital production, the digital master and archive copies must be updated and refreshed in order to avoid corruption and assure future access as both hardware and software change. Services include being accountable for the archiving system that organizes, cross-references, catalogues, records, tracks and processes for future availability electronic publication files, posting maps to the cartographic web site and maintaining web pages for accessibility, and developing data nomenclature compatible with existing and future database systems. The work shall be performed using the computer programs licensed to the National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, the Macintosh System platforms Classic, 10.3, and higher, and the equipment that is used in the performance of graphic design and production of print media. In order to qualify for consideration, experience with a high-volume, recurring series publication production studio or office is required. The Government anticipates award of one Indefinite Quantity Fixed-Priced contract. The contract will be negotiated for one year with priced options for four additional years. The contract will be negotiated with a minimum workload of 100 hours and a maximum workload limit of 1900 hours for task orders issued during each 12-month period. The Solicitation will be available via Electronic Commerce on or around March 16, 2004. No paper copies will be issued.
