Description

The VA is seeking a provider/facility for Radiation Oncology Services in the Portland, OR area. The VA will refer patients to the Contractor for consultation to determine the appropriateness of radiation therapy. If appropriate, the Contractor will develop a proposed treatment plan and provide treatment to patients. The patients referred will be those patients requiring a level of care not available at the VA. The Contractor facility must be JCAHO accredited and located within 20 minutes of the Portland VA Medical Center. The Physicians providing services must be licensed and board certified in radiation therapy or a related field. The Contractor must process all licenses necessary to provide these services. The history of demand for these services between 10/1/02 and 9/30/03 was: Total Number of Patient Consults - 317; Total Patients Receiving Treatments - 271; Total Number of Treatments - 5863; Total Number of Patients Receiving Follow-up Visit - 234; Total Number of Follow-up Visits - 378.
