Description
The purpose of this Sources Sought/Market Research is to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing the MHU-187A/E Loading and Storage Bomb Pallet. The pallet consists of a Top Frame drawing 1454AS202 and a Bottom Frame drawing 1454AS201. T he MHU-187A/E Loading and Storage Bomb Pallets are reusable assemblies designed to unitize three MK 83 Thermally Protected 1000 lb General Purpose Bombs for transit and storage. The assemblies consist of two galvanized 1010 steel weldments: the bottom fra me is approximately 46.75 inches long, 46.00 inches wide and weighs 134 pounds; the top frame is approximately 42.00 inches long, 46.00 inches wide, and weights 46 pounds. The frames are configured to mate with the shape of the bombs. The bottom frame is a 4-way pallet. The top and bottom frames are steel stamped to identify the forward and aft ends, which coincide with the forward and aft ends of the bombs. Welding is critical in pallet fabrication. Weldment shall be in accordance with MIL-W-12332, exc ept all projections and spot welds shall have a shear strength of 3200 pounds minimum per spot unless otherwise noted. The technical data package (TDP) is classified as Distribution A approved for public release; distribution is unlimited. Technical Data and drawings are available upon request. Request a copy of the Technical Data and drawings via e-mail to CombsR@osc.army.mil, request must include Cage Code, Company Name, Address, phone, e-mail address and point of contact. Respondents to this sources s ought must have available the facilities and skills required to manufacture the MHU-187A/E Loading and Storage Bomb Pallet. Specific facilities and skills required to manufacture the MHU-187A/E Pallet are as follows: Ability to weld in accordance with MI L-W-12332 and MIL-W-21157 Class 5 with process shielded metal arc electrode; zinc coat in accordance with ASTM A123/A123M; Cutting, forming 1010 steel per Tech Data Specifications. Skills required to produce the MHU-187A/E Pallet include: Welders; assembl ers; zinc plating; test technicians; certified inspectors; quality control engineers; and skills needed to maintain the equipment and facilities. The general process of making this item is: Buy or fabricate the components identified in drawings above, wel d as called out in drawings, zinc plate. Contractors production capacity must be sufficient to manufacture approximately 6,000 MHU-187A/E Loading and Storage Bomb Pallets per year. Contractors who feel they are capable of manufacturing the MHU-187A/E Loa ding and Storage Bomb Pallet are invited to indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief description/summary of their capabilities, their facilities, personnel and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria. Informati on must be submitted via email to: combsr@osc.army.mil and identify MHU-187A/E Pallet Sources Sought as the subject of your email. This Sources Sought is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation o n the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought or otherwise pay for information solicited.
