Description
8. DESCRIPTION: This is a modification to the original synopsis. The modification involves changing the solicitation number to N00406-04-R-5068. The solicitation is changing from a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to a Request for Proposal (RFP). The procedures of FAR part 13.5, Commercial Acquisition will be utilized. The estimated publication date for the solicitation is March 15, 2004. The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound (FISCPS) in support of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, has a requirement for fabricating eight 316L stainless steel 7000 gallon round horizontal tanks in accordance with ASME Boiler and pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 (latest edition). The tank will be supported in a frame assembly that will be used for lifting, storage, and transportation purposes. The tank shall be manufactured per government provided specifications and drawings. The visual, liquid penetrate, magnetic particle, and radiographic inspection methods shall be in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 and per government acceptance criteria. The required delivery date of the first two tanks is 120 days after award of contract. The remaining tanks shall be delivered in pairs of two within sixty days from the previous delivery date. FOB destination: Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA 98314-5100. When issued, the RFP will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link www.neco.navy.mil. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by FISCPS. All offerors wishing to submit an offer, are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFP from this website, (WinZIP is required) and to frequently monitor that site for any amendments to the RFP. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents. No telephone or FAX requests will be accepted, and no hard-copy solicitation/amendment will be mailed or FAXed. Facsimile proposals/quotes will be accepted. Failure to respond to electronically posted solicitations and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals or quotes may render your proposal or quote non-responsive and result in the rejection of the same.
