Description
This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). HQ AMC/A34YAS is preparing to acquire follow-on dedicated air transportation services to transport six passengers and personnel baggage from Ft Campbell KY and Ft Benning GA to destinations within a 525 Great Circle Statute Mile (GCSM) radius of each location. A third part of the requirement will ask for six passenger scheduled airlift within a 525 GCSM radius of each embarkation location. The contractor must arrive at either location within 1.7 hours from receipt of telephone notification. The aircraft must be able to depart within 15 minutes of arrival and touch down at the destination no later than 4 hours from initial phone call. This contract will only be awarded to a US certificated FAR Part 121 or 135 carrier. To help us determine the most suitable approach to acquire the air transportation services described above, the following information is requested: 1) DESCRIBE YOUR FIRM’S AVAILABLE AIRCRAFT AND THEIR CAPACITY.. 2) WHAT IS THE AVERAGE LENGTH OF THE AIRLIFT CONTRACTS YOUR COMPANY SIGNS? 3) HOW MUCH ADVANCE NOTICE IS REQUIRED TO SCHEDULE A FLIGHT? 4) APPROXIMATE PRICE RANGE PER GCSM OR HOUR? 5) WHAT ARE THE MAJOR PROBLEMS THE AIR CHARTER INDUSTRY IS FACING (insurance rates, fuel cost, slow payment, etc.)? 6) WHAT IS YOUR LIABILITY FOR LOSS/DAMAGE TO PASSENGER BAGGAGE? 7) WHAT FEES ARE USUALLY CHARGED TO CUSTOMERS WHO CANCEL FLIGHTS? 8) WHAT DOES YOUR COMPANY USUALLY CHARGE FOR STANDBY TIME? 9) COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS TO IMPROVE THE FT CAMPBELL/FT BENNING AIRLIFT EFFORT? This agency has not made a final decision to procure the stated requirement and this RFI should not be construed as a commitment or authorization to incur costs in anticipation of such procurement. This agency is interested in obtaining responses to this RFI from prospective contractors, but no contractor will be reimbursed for providing this information; therefore the Air Force will accept the requested information in whatever format it is provided. All information received from a contractor will become property of the Air Force and will not be returned. Responses are requested by 17 Mar 04 and should include a point of contact, phone number, fax number and e-mail address.
