Description: The contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision required for the repair and rehabilitation of an existing pre-engineered metal Air National Guard aircraft hanger building consisting of 8 hanger pods and a central administ rative core (46,136 SF). Work at the existing building includes renovation of all floor areas, siding and hanger door replacement, insulation upgrades, roof repair, and new electrical and HVAC systems. The buildings fire protection/detection systems and plumbing systems will be modified. In simple terms, other than the structure systems and roof, the building will be completely renovated. A new (2,036 SF) weapons shop will be added along with overhead cranes in the repair shops. The contractor will be required to coordinate between all trades. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 236220. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. All work will be done in accordance with the specification s and drawings provided by the Government. The solicitation is expected to be issued on 31 March 2004. For a copy of the Solicitation/Specifications/Drawings (Specifications and Drawings are on a CD ROM)submit a CERTIFIED CHECK OR MONEY ORDER PAYABLE TO THE UNITED STATES TREASURY in the amount of $50.00 (non-refundable)to the point of contact @ USP&FO-NY, Rooms 214, 330 Old Niskayuna Road, Latham, NY 12110-2224. UNCERTIFIED COMPANY CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE AND WILL BE RETURNED. A non-mandatory pre-bid site visit/tour is scheduled for 20 April 2004 at 10:00 AM. Attendees should report to building #250, Base Civil Engineers Office. Prospective contractors are urged to attend. Bid/Payment/Performance Bonds are required. Contractors who plan to attend sho uld contact SMSgt Fred Rodriguez (631) 288-7562 and inform him of your intent to attend along with the company name, and names, titles, and phone numbers of attendees. For security reasons attendees must have 2 forms of photo identification for base entra nce. If you do not inform SMSgt Rodriguez of your intent to attend the pre-bid conference you may not be admitted to the base. At present it is anticipated that this acquisition will be unrestricted with a HUB Zone price preference or restricted to HUB Z one firms. Further coordination with the SBA is currently being done. A modification will be issued to this notice prior to the release of the solicitation indicating any restrictions or set asides. The successful bidder on this project must be register ed with the Department of Defense Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The contract award will not be made to a contractor until this requirement is met.
