Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source: The government has a requirement for cabling and telephone system work for the connection of Legacy INS and Agriculture to the Customs system at O'Hare International Airport, Terminal 5 FIS Area, Chicago, IL 60666. This work consists of Replacing an existing 8-slot cabinet with 16-slot cabinet, Installing additional line cards, Rebuilding System MDF, Installing 89 phones/progrramming/reprogramming and end user training plus miscellaneous materials for the cabling (including cables). The Government intends to sole source this requirement to Communications Solutions, Inc. of Schaumburg, IL. The justification for this sole source is that this vendor is the only known authorized EON (Cortelco) vendor in the area, who has access and is authorized for work in the facility by the Port Authority at the airport and the vendor who currently maintains the existing telephone and voicemail systems for warranty purposes. This proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposls received by the closing date and time of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Facsimile or email responses are acceptable.
