- SOURCES SOUGHT -- The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration is seeking 8(a) contractors to construct the Atlanta Area National Cemetery, Cherokee County, Georgia in two phases. Phase 1A and 1B will be constructed on approximately 110 acres of the National Cemetery site and will consist of the following elements and features: Access Roads and Bridge; Entrance Area; Public Information Center (1,455 gsf) with Gravesite Locator and Public Restrooms; Administration/Maintenance Complex (13,075 gsf), Including Buildings, Service Yard and Parking; Flag Assembly Area; Memorial Walkway Donations Area; Committal Service Shelters (3); Roadway System and Parking; Site Furnishings; Interment Area (Burial Sections) consisting of Casketed Remains: approximately 17,200 full casket gravesites, 12,000 pre-placed crypts and Cremated Remains: approximately 765 in-ground, garden niches, or terrace sites, approximately 3,000 columbarium niches and garden for scattering of cremated remains; Grading, Drainage, Fencing, and Planting; Utility Distribution Systems. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of the project is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The NAICS Code is 237310 and the Size Standard is $28.5 Million. Project No. 922CM2001: Work includes general construction, including furnishing the labor and materials and perform work for the clearing and grading of the site, construction of roads, utilities, buildings and features as required by drawings and specifications and certain other items. The project site is located on top of a mountain and the contractor should anticipate a large amount of rock removal (Approximately 500,000 Cubic Yards of rock) and demolition to be involved. Estimated contract duration is 900 calendar days from date of Notice To Proceed. (Phase 1A: 330 days; Phase 1B: 570 days). 8(a) contractors who are interested in participating in the upcoming solicitation, must be able to 1) demonstrate the financial responsibility to carry an anticipated payroll of approximately $1+ Million per month for approximately 2 ?+ years. 2) Contractors must demonstrate they have sufficient bonding capacity for this project. 3) Corporate experience with contracts of similar size and scope to this project. The projects should demonstrate experience/involvement with large scale earth/rock moving; bridge building; highway/road construction; irrigation, utility, and building construction; pre-cast concrete burial crypts; building construction. 8(a) contractors interested in this project should request a survey form from the Contracting Officer.
