Description: Sources Sought For Rough Terrain Forklift Engine Replacement US Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Materials Handling Equipment Group (AMSTA-LC-CJM) Warren, MI 48397-5000 Attention: Jeff H. Heinfling Email: heinflij@tacom.army.mil TACOM is seeking information from potential sources for an engine replacement (re-powering) effort for the Army??????s 4,000 pound capacity rough terrain forklift (NSN 3930-01-076-4237, J.I. Case Model M4K). The M4K completed fielding in 1983. It is desig ned to load and unload pallets from ISO containers. It is used to handle pallet loads by a variety of Army service and support units. The original engine is a J.I. Case model G207D, part number A154661, NSN 2815-01-109-7969. It is a 4 cylinder diesel, 60 max BHP at 2200 RPM, 55 SAE net BHP at 2200 RPM, equipped with a 24V 40 amp alternator. The replacement engine shall be compatible wi th JP8 Fuel. The forklift is equipped with a 3 speed powershift transmission, Spicer (Clark-Hurth) Model 11.2HR18340-1, Clark part number 286233, NSN 2520-01-105-7088. Technical Manuals for the fork lift can be viewed at the following web site: http://www.logsa.army.mil/etms/find_etm.cfm The engine is shown in the parts manual, number TM-10-3930-638-24P, figure 1, item 11. The transmission is shown in the parts manual figure 47, item 3. The operator??????s manual is TM-10-3930-638-10. Contact the POC for information regarding where the vehicle can be viewed at. Information is desired on currently available re-powering options for this rough terrain forklift.
