Description

Rental of one Aero Commander 690A, high-wing multi-engine turbine aircraft, with auxiliary fuel tanks, for a walrus aerial survey out of Bethel and Nome, Alaska. This survey will be conducted in United States territorial waters in the Bering and Chukchi Seas. The Vendor will have a Part 135 Operating Certificate. This survey is expected to start April 5, 2004 and end April 20, 2004. An estimated 50 flight hours is projected with normal missions of 6-7.5 hours or 1300 nautical miles. This aircraft will be fully Vendor operated using a pilot and co-pilot who have Alaska marine mammal survey experience. Maximum payload is 400 pounds. The aircraft and pilot will be approved for low-level activities under the Alaska Aircraft Rental Agreement. The aircraft will have clear bubble windows with a view for observers looking downward and outward, satellite phone system, real time satellite tracking system, interphone with headset for all passengers, a GPS and an antenna feed for a Garmin hand-held GPS. The Government will evaluate Vendor offer on a best value basis. Evaluation items include price, aircraft offered, pilot experience and company project experience. Please contact Jan A.
