- Description
- The Naval Air System Command has an existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with Rolls Royce/Allison Engine Company for Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), Technical Engineering Support Services (TESS) for the USMC KC-130J, which includes the AE2100D3 turboprop engine and the R391 propeller. The CLS and TESS are needed to maintain an initial complement of thirteen (13) KC-130J at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina with the potential to support up to thirty (30) aircraft at two sites: MCAS Miramar, California, U.S.A; and MCAS Okinawa/Iwakuni, Japan. The Navy intends to modify the contract to include the procurement of spare engine and propeller parts and to increase the number of engine hours due to a higher tempo of operations. The original contract was sole source to Rolls Royce and awarded 1 December 2003. Any responses to this synopsis other than the source indicated must be received by 25 March 2004. See Note 22.
