Description
Over the past six years, the Foreign Service Institute School of Professional Area Studies (SPAS) has made incremental changes and improvements in its efforts to administer and evaluate courses. These efforts encompass before-training needs assessment, as well as evaluation surveys conducted during training, after training, and as long-term follow up to training, plus measurement of customer satisfaction. Additional technical assistance is needed to take these efforts to the next level and integrate them with existing computer and online systems that benefit the SPAS School, as well as FSI in general. The School of Professional and Area Studies (SPAS) of FSI is seeking a contractor to develop an Information Technology Investment Portfolio System (I-TIPS) proposal to obtain funding for the proposed course evaluation and student survey system; to convert SPAS course survey and evaluation instruments to a web-enabled format, and to a scanner-enabled format where web access is not possible; to offer assistance to course managers for creating CD-ROMS and other electronic support materials for students of particular courses; to offer support to SPAS divisions in applying web-based tools and templates to administer course logistics, linked to FSI Learning Management System database applications for tracking course-related information; to expand the CSD and SPAS Intranet sites into a more robust tool for use by SPAS education specialists, instructors and course managers; and provide support to the SPAS division staff on developing other division-specific course support materials and tools.
