Description
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) anticipates the award of a contract for four years and three months to expand the HIV response in Guyana with a focus on comprehensive programs for prevention, care and treatment. In order to address the HIV epidemic in Guyana, USAID/Guyana and partners designed the ?HIV transmission reduced and the impact of AIDS mitigated? strategic objective. The overall goals of this strategic objective are to directly contribute to the President?s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Goal set in Guyana (2-15-9) to provide treatment to 2,000 people, prevent 15,000 new infections and to provide care and support services to 9,000 people with a particular focus on orphans and vulnerable children. The contractor shall be required to work in close collaboration with all U.S. Government partners in achieving these goals. All activities proposed shall also have to directly contribute to the 2-15-9 goals. The Intermediate Results (IRs) of the Mission?s strategic objective on HIV and AIDS that are to be achieved through this contract are: IR 1 - Improved Policy Coordination and Management; IR 2 - Increased Use of Risk Reduction Practices by Most Vulnerable Populations; IR 3 - Increased Use of Prevention and Treatment Services; and IR 4 - Increased Use of Community-Based Care and Support Services. Please note that this RFP is for services in Guyana and not the Dominican Republic. Our office is the Regional Contracting Office for USAID/Guyana. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541690.
