Description

Construct project work as detailed in the designs and specifications for the purpose of restoring wetland conditions and enhancing habitat of a wetland restoration program site in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. Work will include construction of 23 low head dikes, shaping borrow areas to 8:1 or flatter side slopes, spreading spoil, top soiling dikes and spoil disposal areas, and seeding dikes and spillways to cool season grass mixture as specified in the plans and specifications. The work will involve approximately 1,606 cyds topsoil stripping and stockpiling, 11,699 cyds excavation, 9,072 cyds earthfill in dikes, 2,627 cyds excess spoil spreading, 1,606 cyds of topsoil spreading on dikes and borrow areas and 4.0 seeding of dikes and spillways. Cost range is $25,000 to $100,000. Performance time, including mobilization and adverse weather days is: 17 workdays. Earthwork must begin on or before June 2, 2004 and be completed by June 25, 2004. Seeding of dikes and spillways shall be completed by June 27, 2004. Interested parties are invited to attend a site showing on April 13, 2004. The site showing will begin at 9:30 AM to approx 12:00 Noon in the USDA-NRCS conference room, 1160 Weatheridge, Chippewa Falls, WI. For directions, call that location at 715-720-9083 x 27. After a brief meeting concerning the bidding process and contract requirements, the group will leave for a tour of the work site.
