Description

The Contractor to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy Services per the American Dietetic Association Code of Ethics and The IHS manual Chapter Five guidelines to individuals and nutrition education to groups in Non-Hospital or Health Center based clinical settings or community based settings. This may include Schools, Chapter Houses, Wellnes on Wheels, Community based events, etc. Prepares and maintains appropriate health and education records for clients and patients seen to assure the accumulation and organizatio of pertinent clincal data for entry into the RPMS system. Assists with developing and evaluating education materials according to established guidelines for the Navajo Area Indian Health Service with respect for the local cultural, social and economic realities. Assists the Community Nutrition Coordinator in coordinating the provision of services and the development and implementation of innovative public health nutrition programs through collaboration with IHS programs and departments (ex. Public Health Nursing, Health Promotion, Health Education, etc) and other agency programs (ex. Navajo Nation Special Diabetes Project) in order to meet the needs of the SU and the Community within which it serves. May work with clinically based allied health professionals and departments in the provisiions of community based and public health nutrition services. Sole Source is being consider for the Public Health Nutritionist.
