Description
The VA Tennessee Valley Healtcare System is soliciting SF 254s and SF 255s from all qualified large and small businesses. The firm shall provide all necessary labor, material, equipment, and architectural and engineering services as required to prepare complete contract drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates throughout construction for the project SICU AHU Upgrade, Project Number 626-04-105 at the VA Medical Center, 1310 24th Ave., S., Nashville, TN 37212. Work includes mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, and industrial hygiene. It is the intent of the Department of Veterans Affairs to have the A/E fully survey, investigate, and document the existing space and utilities systems in order to gain the knowledge and insight necessary to prepare quality, accurate documents in a professional and competent manner. The project design shall satisfy the following objectives: Remove existing mechanical system and associated equipment/utilities serving the current Srugical Intesive Care Unit (SICU); install a new AHU and associated equipment/utilities; install new return and exhaust fan systems to support the new SICU; expand existing SICU AHU mechanical room as necessary for the new AHU, associated fans, equipment, etc.; provide direct digital controls for new equipment consistent with facility standards. VA will design new SICU, EXCEPT the A/E will be responsible for designing the mechanical system, mechanical room modifications, and utilities/equipment supporting the mechanical system and the mechanical room. Design shall be in accordance with all applicable requirements of NFPA, NEC, OSHA, VA Specifications, VA Standard Details, VA Construction Standards, AIA and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Project includes design development (schematic, DD1 and DD2), construction contract drawings (CD1, CD2, 100% CD), specifications, and construction cost estimate. Also included are site investigation and construction period services. All design criteria for the Department of Veterans Affairs is available at www.va.gov/facmgt/. The estimated construction budget is between $250,000 and $500,000. Interested firms must submit two (2) copies of SF 254 and SF 255 with appropriate documentation to Susan Kemp, Contracting Officer (90C), VISN 9 Acquisition Service Center, 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 by 4:30 p.m. on March 31, 2004. The forms may be downloaded from www.gsa.gov/forms. FAXED COPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. No bid packages are available. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP.
