Description
Sources Sought - The Research, Development & Engineering Command (RDECOM) Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) is seeking sources for Video-Scopes intended primarily for inspection of internal aircraft fuselage for corrosion. Additional possible use s include turbine engines and rotor hub inspections. An initial procurement is planned for approximately 50 Video-Scopes meeting the requirements described herein. Mandatory Requirements: - Video-Scope with various diameter insertion tubes and probes in the range of 5mm, 6.1mm, 7.3mm, and 8.4mm. - Flexible insertion tube with a minimum 2-meter range and interchangeable probe tips. - Full probe articulation in all directions. - Minimum 330 image resolution. - Color display. - Ability to measure, zoom, label and store images on a removable media. - Remote light source (i.e.; not in probe tip). - Unit cost of less than $30K when purchasing a quantity of 50. - Ruggedized self-contained housing. - Portable and capable of battery operation. - Ability to operate while clothed with standard US Army cold weather gear. - Serviceable and supportable worldwide. Desirable Requirements: - Ability to operate on universal power sources (US and European). - Weigh less than 44 pounds. - Ability to measure corrosion depth. - Capability to change between different diameter insertion tubes. - Straight ahead and right angle image viewing. - Qualified to operate in a flammable environment. - Qualified to operate in an NBC environment. - Qualified within the following temperature ranges: Operating -40oF - 160oF Storage -60oF - 180oF Technical questions may be addressed to Mr. Roger Walling, AMSRD-AMR-SE-PI/Roger Walling, Building 5405, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898. This survey is also issued IAW the requirements of FAR Part 10 to determine the applicability of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. This announcement is to determine the availability of existing Video-Scopes that meet the requirements outlined above. Please address specific performance characteristics of your product, as well as the physical characteristics of size, weight and transpo rtability. Any known limitations of your product should also be addressed. In accordance with FAR Clause 52.215-3, the Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Once the information requested is received and evaluated, the vendor may be cont acted to provide a demonstration at the PIF location.
