Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Enterprise Systems Division, through the Acquisition Management Group, NIST, has a requirement for renewal of ABAQUS annual software maintenance support. NIST intends to award a sole source simplified acquisition to ABAQUS East, LLC, Warwick, RI 02886-0201, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), who is only know responsible source that can meet Agency requirements. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to procure ABAQUS license renewals for 10 Analysis tokens and two seats of ABAQUS/CAE. ABAQUS is the sole owner of the copyright to the software and the sole distributor of licenses. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates in a written narrative format detailed information addressing their ability to meet the requirement and objectives as described in this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available; therefore, requests for such a document will be considered invalid responses. A determiniation to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the descretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received by March 29, 2004 at 1:00pm local time, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the award to ABAQUS East, LLC.
