- Description
- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP)will be seeking a contractor (small business) to provide operational support to the Asset Management group, within the CBP Technical Support Center. The CBP Technical Support Center is in the initial point of contact for CBP personnel to report all automation problems. The contractor will be responsible for computer equipment preventive and remedial maintenance services for all CBP computer equipment including central processing units, direct access storage devices, tape devices, laser printers, and also more complex or unique equipment such as finger print readers, passport readers and networking equipment. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials (including mauals and schematics),parts, equipment, inventory support, shipping capabilities and transportation necessary to maintain CBP, hardware, including staffing the Technical Support Center call desk, located at the CBP National Data Center, Springfield, Virginia. On a monthl basis, the Technical Support Center, Asset Management grop receives approximately 1200 calls for technical assistance. The technicians perform telephonic troubleshooting and determine appropriate course of action for resolving equipment malfunctions, e.g., dispatch field repair, demo repair, replacement. Asset Management, technical support is provided 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Currently there are approximately 20,000 users supported with the possiblity of further expansion.
