Description

The intent of this solicitation is for the Eagle Falls Trailhead Restoration (Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit). To reconstruct Eagle Falls Trailhead to allow safe vehicle turn around, restore stream environment zone, reduce soil compaction, install watershed best management practices and improve access for people with disabilities. The site is one of the most heavily visited in the Sierras and very sensitive. Work consists of demolishing and reconstructing existing improvements including: paving the parking lot, building rock faced retaining and seat walls, constructing pedestrian boardwalk, relocating picnic facilities, constructing accessible restroom, constructing kiosk fee station, concrete paver stones, fencing, trash enclosure, drinking fountain, installing storm drainage system, removing old asphalt, and landscaping. The government estimate is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. There will be no pre-proposal meeting and/or tour due to snow. The following are directions in case any vendor is interested in viewing the site independently: Site is located approximately 8 miles north of South Lake Tahoe, California via State Route 89 from the junction of SR 89 and US 50. Also, a drawing and pictures of the site are uploaded to aid interested vendors. The estimated start work date is mid-July 2004. The solicitation package will be posted at this internet site on approximately April 7, 2004. Responses are due to the issuing office address above on May 6, 2004 by close of business (4:30 pm)
