Description

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy intends to negotiate an extension to its current contract with North Shore-LIJ Health System of Manhasset, New York, on a sole source basis. North Shore-LIJ Health System provides on-site health services and in-patient hospital care services for Midshipmen who attend the Academy. This extension shall be for the period of 1 April 2004 through 30 June 2004. In recognition of the Academy's need for continuity of operations, this extension will allow the Academy adequate time to prepare a solicitation for a long term contract for these services. See Numbered Note 22. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
