Description
100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. To be considered small, for purpose of dredging, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern. The solicitation document will be available on or about May 4, 2004. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 with a size standard of $17.0 million. The term size standard describes the numerical definition of a small business. In other words, a busin ess including its affiliates, which has been in business for three or more complete fiscal years with annual average gross revenue of $17.0 million or below meets the size standard and is considered Small Business. Contractor must be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registration prior to award of this solicitation. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award. The work consist of maintenance dredging of approximately 180,000 cubic yards of unclassified materia l from Shem Creek and approximately 425,000 cubic yards of unclassified material from Shoals 6A Part 1 and Part 2 in the Lower Town Creek Reach of Charleston Harbor, Charleston County, SC. Material will be deposited in the North Cell of Morris Island Disp osal Area. This work includes complying with the requirement of the Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammals Protection Act. The estimated value of the proposed project is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available in electronic format, downloadable from the Internet. No CD-ROMs or hardcopy documents will be distributed. Bidders must register on the website below in order to view or download the solicitation documents. It is the responsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices and amendments. The registration form and solicitation documents can be found at http://ebs.sac.usace.army.mil/ebs/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp. The solicitation will be posted on or about May 4, 2004, wit h bids due on or about June 8, 2004. Telephone requests will not be honored. See Numbered Note 1.
