Description
Subject to final approval, the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Public Debt, on behalf of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, New Hampshire intends to award a sole-source contract to Emerson Cuming of Canton, Massachusetts for syntactic foam buoyancy material to provide buoyancy for manned and unmanned submersible vehicles. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 325211 (Plastics Material and Resin Manufacturing) and the small business size standard is 750 employees. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements at this time. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available. However, all proposals received within fifteen days (15) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties may register at http://www.fedbizopps.gov to receive notification if any amendments are issued and available for downloading. Please note that the General Services Administration provides the notification service as a convenience and does not guarantee that notifications will be received by all persons on the mailing list.
