Description
The Tahoe National Forest anticipates awarding a non-competitive requirements contract to Pyrologix, Missoula, MT, for highly technical fuels and fire behavior modeling. This will include the application of Nexus and other new fuel models to fire behavior modeling of wildland and urban/wildland fire situations, monitoring, and fire and fuels assessments. The work is in support of the Adaptive Management Services Enterprise Team; ordering will be limited to this team. Estimated quantities are 1200 hours in FY04 and 1500 hours in FY05, with a maximum of 2000 hours in either fiscal year. Sample tasks include 1) Applying Nexus and other fire behavior models to develop or apply existing fuel models to fuel types in the conterminous United States, Alaska, Canada, Europe, and Australia; and 2) Modeling potential fire behavior using the new fire behavior models (Burgan and Scott, unpublished), ignition patterns, and fire spread in urban conflagrations that occur in wildland urban interface areas. Vendors believing they can meet this requirement must submit written information showing clearly that the individual(s) proposed for accomplishing the work have successful experience in developing and applying fire behavior models and level of expertise with and access to the Nexus fire behavior model in particular that each individual possesses. Also include hourly rates for each individual named. All information must be received no later than 2 p.m. PDT April 8, 2004. Mail to 631 Coyote Street, Nevada City, CA 95959, Attn: Contracting or FAX to 530-478-6126.
