Description
The U.S. Army, Office of the Program Manager Soldier Weapons is seeking sources to provide the following item: M4 Single or Three Point Sling ? Single point sling provides the Soldier with ready fire access to his M4 weapon system, no sling repositioning necessary. Attaches weapon directly to load bearing equipment and allows the wearer to keep their weapon in a near-ready position while performing two-handed tasks. Three point sling provides the Soldier with fast and easy transitions, Tangle/Twist free and offers the individual Soldier with custom positioning and weapon balance. Sling must possess the following characteristics: Attaches to weapon with no alterations or other additions to the weapon, provides a quick detach capability, is constructed of Nylon, be adjustable to balance load for all size Soldiers in all modes of dress, and withstand rigors of use in a military environment. Please advise if your product is a commercially available item. Proprietary and/or classified information will be protected as denoted with submission. Interested firms should submit literature/brochures not exceeding twenty (20) pages describing their technical capabilities, item design details and operational characteristics, production capacity (monthly sustainable production rate, maximum production rate, time frame for first and subsequent deliveries), location of manufacturing facilities and unit production costs. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Please submit your responses no later than 04/06/04.
