- escription: SUBJECT: JMatPro, ThermoCalc, and related Databases (software). DESC: The U.S. Department of Energy?s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Pittsburgh, PA intends to award a purchase order on a sole-source basis to Sente Software Inc. Pittsburgh, PA for the purchase of JMatPro, ThermoCalc, and related Databases (software) for use at the Albany Research Center, Albany, OR. The following items are to be purchased: (1) JMatPro-Ni module for Ni-based superalloys ? 1 each; (2) JMatPro-Fe module for Fe-based alloys (includes: HSLA Steels, High Speed Steels, Cast Irons, and Stainless Steels) ? 1 each; (3) Ni-DATA, Version 6.0 (ThermoCalc Format) ? (with elements: Fe-Al-Co-Cr-Fe-Hf-Mn-Mo-Nb-Ru-Re-Si-Ta-Ti-W-Zr-B-C-N) ? 1 each; (4) Fe-DATA, Version 5.0 (ThermoCalc Format) ? (with elements: Fe-Al-B-C-Co-Cr-Cu-Mg-Mn-Mo-N-Nb-Ni-P-S-Si-Ta-Ti-V-W) ? 1 each; (5) Thermo-Calc for Windows, Site License (TCW 2.1) ? 1 each and (6) TCFE3, ThermoCalc?s Steel database, Version 3 ? 1 each. This purchase order is being issued to Sente Software Inc because there is no alternative since they are the manufacturer of JMatPro and, as such, is the only source of this software. No other vendor can supply this software. This software is the only reliable, commercially available software available to make calculations for stable and metastable phase equibria; solidification behavior and properties; thermo-physical and physical properties; phase transformations; chemical properties; and mechanical properties for number of nickel-based and iron-based superalloys. It can also calculate a wide range of materials properties on multi-component alloys that will be used in the development of solid oxide fuel cell materials and components. JMatPro shares databases with other software (ThermoCalc) that will also be used in this program. It is the only software that is known to be available that can do all of these things. This request is considered to be sole source to Sente Software Inc. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by this agency. Offerors shall provide sufficient technical literature, documents, etc., in order for the Government evaluation team to make an adequate technical assessment of the quote as meeting technical acceptability. Respon Therefore, no solicitation will result the announcement. This award shall be made using FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Request for information should be addressed to Mr. Robert L.
