Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Varian Medical Systems of Desplaines IL, to perform PM and emergency repairs on the Varian 2100C Linear Accelerator. This equipment is located at the VA Hines IL. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 811219. The 2100C has dual independent jaws, dynamic wedge and multi-leaf collimator. To the best of our knowledge, Varian is the only vendor that can provide the required services and the proprietary hardware/software upgrades necessary to maintain the system. A min. 10 years of experience on this equipment is required. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Varian Medical Systems.
