Description

Integrated Disposal Facility (IDF) Summary Description - Once constructed, the Integrated Disposal Facility (IDF) will provide an approved, expandable, near surface disposal facility for the permanent, environmentally safe disposition of Mixed Low-Level Waste (MLLW) including vitrified Immobilized Low-Activity Waste (ILAW) canisters which will be produced at the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP), and Low-Level Waste (LLW) that meets the requirements of the Department of Energy (DOE). In addition, the IDF will conduct solid waste operations to receive and dispose of onsite and offsite generated mixed waste, and low-level solid waste. The IDF will consist of a single lined landfill with two separate, expandable cells. The landfill will be divided lengthwise with one cell for disposal of low-level radioactive waste and the other cell permitted as a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) compliant landfill system for disposal of MLLW. - Potential Offerors - CH2M HILL Hanford Group, Inc. (CH2M HILL), is pleased to invite qualified parties to submit a firm fixed price (lump sum) proposal to construct the landfill for the IDF in the 200 East Area on the Hanford Site. In preparation of proposals, it is essential that requirements of the Request for Proposal be adhered to.
