Description

Rental of one Aero Commander 690A, high-wing multi-engine turbine aircraft, or equal, with auxiliary fuel tanks, for a sea otter survey. The survey will be flown in 2 time frames, the first being May 3, 2004 to May 8, 2004 and the second to be flown sometime in mid July, not yet decided. This survey will be conducted on the west coast of the Alaska Peninsula, from Cold Bay, Alaska north until observers are certain they have reached the northern end of sea otter distribution. The Vendor shalll have a Part 135 Operating Certificate. An estimated 20 flight hours total flight in May and again in July with noraml missions of 6 hours flying. This aircraft will be fully Vendor operated using a pilot and co-pilot who have Alaska marine mammal survey experience. The Aircraft and pilots will be approved for low-level activities under the Alaska Aircraft Rental Agreement. The aircrft will have clear bubble windows with a view for observers looking downward and outward, satellite phone system, real time satellite tracking system, interphone with headset for all passengers, a GPS and an antenna feed for a Garmin hand-held GPS. The Government will evaluate Vendor offer on a best value bases. Evaluation items include price, aircraft offered, pilot experience and company project experience. Please contact Jan A.
