- The work involves furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services necessary to repair or replace approximately 230,000 square feet of roofing at the three-building Cincinnati Main Post Office campus. Base bid work on the 100,000-square-foot Building A includes replacing all base and roof penetration flashings, and removing and patching of approximately 25% of the existing built-up roof system to structural concrete deck with a cold-process built-up-roof system utilizing rubberized-asphalt adhesive, cold-process flood coat and surfacing of entire roof, new roof walkpads, and a new overflow drain at each existing roof drain. Additional base bid work on Building A includes providing new flashed roof penetrations for conduit, removal of existing unused conduit on rooftop, rewiring selected existing rooftop wiring, and repair of the brick parapet face by removal of the existing waterproof coating, replacement of spalled and damaged bricks, selective repointing, and applying a sealer. Base bid work on the 100,000-square-foot Building B, Building B office tower, and connector bridges, includes replacing all base and roof penetration flashings, removal of entire existing roofing system to lightweight concrete fill or to structural deck, providing new hot-applied built-up-roof system utilizing rubberized-asphalt adhesive on sloped insulation, new roof walkpads, new roof drains to tie to existing storm drain system, a new overflow drain at each new and existing roof drain, new overflow drain for the existing cooling tower, and rewiring of selected existing rooftop wiring.
