Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division intends to procure the aforementioned system upgrade in support of performance testing for the U.S. Navy Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Simulation Laboratory. This will be the latest in a series of upgrades the Laboratory has undergone in order to allow for a more comprehensive test capability to support the various versions of the AMRAAM. Part of the upgrade will include inductosyn feedback to the roll axis in addition to updating the controller for accurate positioning and control of the flight table. This new digital controller upgrade will allow more responsive control of the flight motion simulator. The elevation brake will ensure that the test article in the Three-Axis Flight Motion Simulator will remain in a fixed elevation position after hydraulic pressure is removed, increasing safety for both personnel and the test article. The Government anticipates awarding a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract through other than full and open competition to CARCO Electronics, 195 Constitution Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025. CARCO Electronics, as the OEM for the above described system has the required technical and engineering expertise and the manufacturing data packages for this system. Interested parties shall identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by 16 Feb 2004. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that shall be considered by the procuring activity. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26.
