- This requirement is for Hospital Linen/Laundry Services. The National Hansen?s Disease Programs (NHDP) is a long-term health care facility for patients with Hansen?s Disease. The NHDP leases the 3rd floor of Summit Hospital in Baton Rouge LA and the 2nd floor as clinic space in the adjacent Plaza II Building. Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, transportation, supplies, vehicles and facility necessary to assure that all operations and services are conducted in accordance with the contract. The National Hansen?s Disease Programs requires hospital laundry/linen service to include sheets, pillowcases, blankets, bedspreads, bath towels, wash cloths, patient gowns and laundry bags for the NHDP Ward, Summit Hospital, 17000 Medical Center Drive, Baton Rouge LA and NHDP Clinic, Plaza II, 17050 Medical Center Drive, Baton Rouge LA. Services shall include provision of linen, maintaining of inventory, pick up soiled/contaminated linen and deliver clean linen twice daily to replenish linen supply to par level, daily pick up of soiled linen and linen replacement as needed. Linen carts and hampers shall be provided by the contractor. Linen services shall be performed in accordance with JCAHO requirements, all regulations cited in the contract and industry standards. Only one award will be made for these services. Contractor must maintain a system of records as to work performed sufficient to answer all reasonable issues with regard to the linen supply and work performed. The period of performance will be from July 1, 2004 through September 30, 2004 (Estimate 18,750 pounds) with options as follows: Option 1: October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005 (75,000 pounds). Option 2: October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006 (Estimate 75,000 pounds). Option 3: October 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007 (Estimate 56,250 pounds). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 812332 and the Small Business Size Standard is $12 million. The Contractor must have experience in providing hospital laundry cleaning services. The firm must have gained this experience as a result of being regularly engaged in the business of providing laundry services in health care/patient care environments (e.g. inpatient and outpatient medical treatment facilities.) Only firms with this experience will be considered for award. The contractor shall be available during normal duty hours and shall be able to meet on the installation with government personnel within 24 hours after notification. All interested parties must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) in order to receive an award. The solicitation will be issued on or about April 15, 2004.
