Description

Services of an Architect-Engineering Firm are requested to provide study/services including, but not limited to the following: The Steam Heating System at the VA Medical Center was designed circa 1947 and has had minimal changes or upgrades to the original basic system since that time. A study was accomplished in late 2000 that identified the major components of the existing steam and condensate system outside of the boiler room. The study reflected locations, functions, conditions, and repair recommendations at that time. This design project is intended to expand upon that 2000 study to show more detail of the existing steam and condensate system, show refined locations and functions against clean floor plans, present current state of repair conditions, and provide repair recommendations with detailed element cost estimates. Additionally, this design project is intended to provide a targeted design for a construction contract to replace and/or install new domestic water isolation valves, to repair/modify/replace pneumatic zone control and pressure reduction valve stations/assemblies, and other related piping systems requirements. Estimated Construction Cost $250,000-$500,000. Area of consideration is limited to firms within 50 driving miles fo the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. NAICS Code is 541330. Interested firms submit SF 254 & 255's with appropriate data described in numbered notes 24 & 25 no later than April 16, 2004. This is not a Request For Proposal (RFP). No bid packages are available. Project is subject to availability of funds.
