Description
The U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command will be hosting an industry day at the Community Activities Center Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland on May 4, 2004. This is an opportunity for manufacturers of anesthesia equipment suitable for t he austere military environment to participate in the development of the next generation of battlefield anesthesia equipment and to present their current equipment to the military. This will be an assessment of the state of the industry. To accomplish this goal, this will be a 'hands on' exposition and evaluation by anesthesia subject matter experts. The equipment will be able to be operated by the attendees who will be military anesthesia providers, biomedical technicians, logisticians, and members of the medical research and development community. There will be representatives from Joint Readiness Clinical Advisory Board (JRCAB), USAMMDA and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). The equipment being sought includes: Anesthesia machi nes, ventilators, anesthesia vaporizers, medical air compressors, oxygen saturation and carbon dioxide monitors, ventilation circuit disposables and any other equipment needed to provide anesthesia in the military medical environment. This will not be mere ly a static display. Only 110-volt 60Hz electrical power is available, if there are any special needs please contact Mark Arnold to see if they can be accommodated. In order for a proper assessment of these products to take place, manufacturers will need to set up their products attached to simulated lungs. Manufacturers will need to provide for any compressed gases necessary for a full demonstration of their products' performance. The exhibition will begin with vendor set-up from 7am to 9am and the vendor exhibits will be open for viewing from 9am to 4pm. To register for the exhibition and for additional information contact one of the Points-of-Contact: Mr. Scott Defibaugh, Phone ( 301) 698-2686, Email sdefibaugh@anteon.com - Ms. Stephanie Harvey, Phone (301) 698-2686, Email stephanieharvey@ anteon.com - Mr. Mark Arnold, Product Manager, Phone (301) 619-7854, Email mark.arnold@amedd.army.mil Place of Performance: Community Activities Center (CAC), Bldg 718, Porter Street, Fort Detrick, MD 21702
