Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Honeywell International Inc, Teterboro, NJ for integration of the Transfer Alignment System (TAS) for CASS. The pre-production prototype unit was developed under Contract N68335-02-C-0430. Efforts will include modification of the Honeywell Inertial Reference Unit (IRU) software to develop a dual use mode control to allow the same inertial reference unit to be used on land and at sea. The IRU will be modified to be compatible with the Navy's software Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI). Additionally, efforts to support this unit during (at sea) carrier deployment will be required. The Government does not own data, drawings, or other specifications to permit full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses must be received within 15 days of this synopsis notice. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this synopsis is solely within the discretion of the Government.
