THE EDE SHOULD DETECT EXPLOSIVES WITH 95% OR BETTER PROBABILITY OF DETECTION, WITH LESS THAN 5% FALSE ALARM RATE. DETECTION MODES SHOULD INCLUDE VAPOR AND PARTICLE. WARM UP TIME SHOULD BE LESS THAN 5 MINUTES, AND THE EDE SHOULD WEIGH NO MORE THAN 27KG TOTAL. THE ANALYSIS SYSTEM SHOULD RUN OFF OF STANDARD AC POWER SUPPLY AND THE COLLECTION SYSTEM SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST AN HOUR RUN TIME OFF OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERY. THE COLLECTION SHOULD HAVE TWO CONFIGURATIONS, EITHER HANDHELD OR BACKPACK. THE OPERATING TEMPERATURES OF THE EDE SHOULD BE FROM AT LEAST 10 DEGREES C TO 40 DEGREES C.
