- SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston is soliciting information from potential sources to provide Ruggedized Tablet PC's. SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston plans to implement a paperless Radio Communications System (RCS) Testing Program that will require the use of Ruggedized Tablet PC's. The plan is to streamline the testing process on all SCN and Corporate Production platforms, LPD, CVN, LHD, T-AKE and CSRR. The Tablet hardware requirements: Minimum requirements: Ruggedized to withstand a 3' drop to concrete, 500 MHZ Processor, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB hard drive, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition OS, 1024x768 resolution w/Resistive Touch screen and stylus (similar to Palm Stylus), LAN I/O Port, PCMCIA Card Slot Ability to expand to Wireless in future, USB 2.0 I/O Ports(2) (Ability to attach full sized keyboard and Printer), Headphone/Microphone jack(s) and User Programmable Function Keys. Battery Requirements: Ability to charge Spare battery outside of computer, 4 hour battery life (our typical use) before battery swap required (prefer 8 hour), Possible Hot Swappable batteries to extend usage time. This notice is for planning purposes only. Responses must include the following: (1) name and address of firm; (2) size of business; (3) product specification on proposed product, to include any optional equipment, i.e. brochures, catalogs, etc., (4) for planning purposes an estimated cost of the proposed system offered. THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNAOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO NEITHER THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, NOR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. RESPONDENTS WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF THE RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION. THE GOVERNMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CONSIDER A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE OR 8(a) SET-ASIDE BASED ON RESPONSES HERETO.
