Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Ocean Service, Center for Coastal Environmental Health (CFCEH) intendS to purchase a Luminex 100, Version 1.7 total system paired with Master Plex GT Analysis Software from MiraiBio. The Environmental Microbiology Program at CFCEH will be conducting research in diction of human pathogenic bacteria in different environmental samples, i.e., surface water, sediments, shellfish tissue, etc. They will be searching for different bacterial genotypes in these samples and making their own labeled probes to be attached to beads that will then be analyzed. The Instrument and Software Requirements: Luminex 100 System-bead-based flow cytometry multi-analyte detection system. PC and monitor to be included with Luminex version 1.7 Data Acquisition software preloaded. Calibration beads and 20L sheath fluid to be included, Luminex XYP-a low profile microtiter plate interface for walk-away automation, Luminex SD-a sheath delivery system that connects to the 10L sheath container and provides a continual flow of sheath fluid for up to 48 hours of operation, Two day Training Session at Luminex in Austin, TX, MasterPlex GT Analysis Software-exclusive Hitachi/MiraiBio software for analyzing qualitative genetic data from the Luminex platform. MasterPlex GT is the only software specifically designed for analysis of multiplex genotype data. The government knows of no other source except MiraiBio that can provide the Luminex System paired with MasterPlex GT analysis software. The intended procurement is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one manufacturer under the authority of 41USC253?(1).Any business sources able to provide the specific item referenced, are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days after it?s publication. Interested firms should submit in writing, their name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and brief statement regarding their capability and qualifications to provide the Luminex 100. This information should be submitted to fax number 816-426-7530 Attn: Sharon Walker. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. This acquisition is being conducted pursuant to the guidelines set forth in FAR Part 13. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no qualified responses are received, the Government intends to contract with MiraiBio for the item referenced. The NAICS code is 541511. This is not a small business set-aside.
