Description
Potential Sources Sought - This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue a request for proposal, award of an agreement or contract as a result of the request. It is anticipated that the Naval Air Systems Command intends to procure and test a programmable void sensing and layer counting fuze needed to properly activate a Tomahawk missile penetration warhead to defeat hard and deeply buried targets. The test will be conducted as the proof of concept of a qualified and currently in production void and layer sensing fuze. The test will demonstrate that the warhead using this fuze will penetrate a hard, and deeply buried target, sense and count layers and voids as it penetrates, and then detonating the warhead in the void as programmed. All interested companies with qualified devices that are currently in production are encouraged to respond to this synopsis to identify their device, its qualifications and production status. Respond electronically to Ms. Rebecca Krukar, Rebecca.Krukar@Navy.mil, on or before 16 April 04. The response shall include one page providing the following information: Business name and address, cage code, size classification, socioeconomic classification (i.e., woman-owned, HUB zone representative, etc), and a point of contact. In addition, interested parties are encouraged to submit an additional one page attachment to identify their device, its qualifications and production status. The total submission shall not exceed two pages. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals and, as stated above, is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue a request for proposal or award an agreement or contract as a result of this request. The government will not reimburse the respondent for any costs associated with information submitted in response to this request. All submitted information should be unclassified.
