- "This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Division Crane ." The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, for the Program Manager for Advanced Tactical Aircraft Protective Systems, (PMA-272J) is conducting market research to determine the commercial availability of an advanced airborne infrared expendable with demonstrated capability against advanced two color infrared missile threats when dispensed from tactical aircraft such as the F-15E or the F/A-18. The advance d airborne expendable must be compatible with the AN/ALE-39 and AN/ALE-4X Countermeasures Dispenser Systems. The expandable must be in production and available for delivery by 15 November 2004. The advanced airborne expendable must have successfully passed MIL-STD safety series tests and selected environmental conditioning tests of MIL-STD-810D and MIL-STD-331B. Packaging must have demonstrated meeting the requirements of approved NATO packaging tests and packaging hazard classification tests. The IR expendable must be suitable for naval usage and meet the safety requirements needed for U.S. Navy Weapons Systems Explosive Safety Review Board certification.
